Dudus back in court
Deposed alleged gangster Christopher 'Dudus' Coke will today face a court in New York as preparations for the start of his trial swing into high gear.
Coke, who was extradited to the United States in June, will be appearing for a pretrial conference.
He has already pleaded not guilty in a Manhattan federal court in New York to charges that he conspired to distribute drugs and guns.
Last week, prosecutors placed sealed documents related to the case in the vault of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. It was the second time since Coke was extradited to the US that sealed documents had been placed in the vault at the court.
Man charged with Tredegar Park killings
Twenty-nine-year-old Anthony Richards became the first person arrested and charged with the murders of eight people in Tredegar Park, St Catherine, last month.
Richards, who is also called 'Shortie', was charged last Friday with eight counts of murder, shooting, illegal possession of firearm and conspiracy to murder.
He is scheduled to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on September 14.
Head of the St Catherine North Police Division, Superintendent Assan Thompson, revealed yesterday that five other suspects are in custody awaiting identification parades. Another suspect was questioned by investigators and released.
Investigators have still not established a motive for the killings.
Thompson also released the names of two other men who he said could assist the police investigations.
They are Isley Williams, otherwise called 'Judgment', and Kemar Walker, otherwise called 'Deo'.
